At the Deborah Disability Foundation, our programs are designed to address the real challenges faced by persons with disabilities while creating opportunities for dignity, independence, and inclusion. We combine advocacy, direct support, and community-driven initiatives to ensure no one is left behind.
Advocacy & Awareness
We champion the rights of persons with disabilities by raising awareness and driving change through campaigns, community sensitization, and engagement in policy discussions. Our advocacy work challenges stigma, promotes inclusion, and ensures that the voices of persons with disabilities are heard in decision-making spaces.
Mobility Aid Distribution
Mobility is freedom. We provide essential mobility aids such as wheelchairs, walking sticks, crutches, and prosthetics to individuals who would otherwise struggle to move around independently. These tools restore confidence, dignity, and the ability to participate fully in family and community life.
Education Support
Education is a powerful equalizer. We offer scholarships, school supplies, and assistive learning tools to children with disabilities, ensuring they have the same opportunities as their peers. By supporting inclusive education, we help break the cycle of poverty and open doors to brighter futures.
Healthcare Access
Good health is a foundation for independence. We organize medical camps, provide therapy services, and connect persons with disabilities to essential healthcare. Our programs also focus on rehabilitation and preventive care, ensuring that those living with disabilities have access to quality medical support when they need it most.
Economic Empowerment
We believe in creating opportunities, not dependence. Through vocational training, small business support, and skills development programs, we equip persons with disabilities to earn a living, support their families, and contribute meaningfully to their communities. Economic empowerment restores dignity and independence.
Community Outreach
Community is strength. We host forums, events, and support groups that bring together persons with disabilities and their families. These spaces foster peer support, knowledge sharing, and collective advocacy, helping to reduce isolation and strengthen solidarity.
Feeding Programs
Food security is a human right. Our feeding programs target persons with disabilities living in underserved and marginalized communities across Kenya. These initiatives ensure that vulnerable individuals and families have access to nutritious meals, combating hunger and improving overall well-being.
Psychosocial Support
Acquiring a disability can be an overwhelming and life-changing experience. We provide counseling and psychosocial support for individuals and families, helping them to cope, adapt, and rebuild their lives with hope and resilience.
Water and Sanitation
Access to clean water and sanitation is essential for health and dignity. We work to provide clean water sources and distribute sanitary towels among persons with disabilities, addressing both hygiene needs and gender-specific challenges that are often overlooked.
Caregiving
Behind every person living with a disability is often a caregiver who needs guidance and support. We train caregivers on best practices for handling, supporting, and nurturing loved ones with disabilities, ensuring care is safe, respectful, and empowering for both parties.
