Jamhuri Day Message from Deborah Disability Foundation

Jamhuri Day gives us a moment to pause and appreciate how far our nation has come. It reminds us that independence is more than a historic event. It is a daily responsibility to build a country where every person can live with dignity, access opportunities, and feel seen and valued.

At Deborah Disability Foundation, we celebrate this day with gratitude and purpose. Kenya’s strength has always come from its people. That strength grows even deeper when we recognize the rights, voices, and contributions of persons living with disabilities. A truly independent nation is one that removes barriers, opens doors, and makes sure no one is left out of the national story.

Our work in communities across the country continues to show that inclusion is not an act of charity. It is a commitment to fairness. It is a promise that every Kenyan deserves quality healthcare, mobility support, access to education, and the chance to participate fully in society. When we advance health and support systems for persons with disabilities, we elevate families, strengthen communities, and move our country forward.

This Jamhuri Day, we honor the resilience of the disability community, the caregivers who give their all, the partners who walk with us, and the many Kenyans who believe in a more inclusive future. We also renew our focus on creating safe spaces, promoting disability rights, and expanding programs that improve the wellbeing of PLWDs.

Our independence is strongest when it includes everyone. As we raise our flag today, let’s keep raising hope, understanding, and opportunity for all.

Happy Jamhuri Day from the entire Deborah Disability Foundation family.
