From Pain to Purpose. From Faith to Impact.
Deborah Disability Foundation was born from a deeply personal journey. One shaped by pain, resilience, and an unshakable faith in God.
Our founder, Mama Deborah(Pictured), underwent surgical procedure with the hope of regaining mobility and returning to a normal, active life. What was meant to be a step toward healing took an unexpected turn. Post-surgery complications led to sepsis, and she spent two critical months in the Intensive Care Unit, fighting for her life.
As the days stretched into weeks, the burden grew heavier. Medical bills mounted rapidly. Physiotherapy, medication, and long-term care became increasingly expensive. The family struggled to raise funds, and at times, even letters seeking support were misunderstood or misclassified, making access to help more difficult. Beyond hospitalization, the cost of recovery continued. Walking aids, wheelchairs, walking frames, and a portable toilet were no longer optional but necessary, adding further strain to an already overwhelmed family.
In the middle of fear and uncertainty, faith became the anchor. Through prayer, unity, and love, the family stood with Mama Deborah every step of the way. That season opened our eyes to a reality many face in silence. Persons living with physical disabilities, and the caregivers who support them, often walk this journey with little recognition, limited resources, and no safety net.
What began as suffering slowly revealed a calling.
The Birth of Deborah Disability Foundation
In 2023, Deborah Disability Foundation was officially registered. What started as a personal experience became a mission rooted in compassion and guided by faith. Pain was transformed into purpose, and hardship into a commitment to serve others.
Supported by the Deborah family and well-wishers who believed in the vision, the foundation was created to restore dignity, promote inclusion, and empower persons living with physical disabilities, alongside the caregivers who stand by them.
Our Impact
Through God’s grace and the generosity of partners and donors, Deborah Disability Foundation has been able to:
- Provide walking aids and assistive devices to individuals with physical disabilities
- Offer food support to vulnerable families
- Mentor and support caregivers, addressing their emotional, spiritual, and practical needs
- Create safe spaces that rebuild confidence, hope, and self-worth
- Enable individuals to gain abilities, not just assistance, supporting more independent and dignified living
Every life touched reinforces a simple truth. Disability does not erase purpose. With the right support, resilience and strength rise to the surface.
Our Faith and Hope
We believe every person is created in the image of God and deserves dignity, love, and opportunity. Disability is not a limitation to God’s plan. It is often the space where His strength and grace are most clearly revealed.
To persons living with disability(PLWD):
You are seen. You are valued. Your life carries deep and lasting purpose.
To caregivers:
Your service is sacred. Your sacrifice matters. Your strength changes lives.
Deborah Disability Foundation stands as proof that when faith meets compassion and community, dignity can be restored, hope renewed, and lives transformed.
Matthew 25:35-40(NIV)
35 For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, 36 I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’
37 “Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? 38 When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? 39 When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’
40 “The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’
Together, we continue building an inclusive society where no one is left behind and everyone is empowered to rise.
